Religious apologists often ask, 'If you don't believe in God, what stops you from killing people?' This question reveals a terrifying mindset: that the only thing holding them back is fear of divine punishment. For atheists, morality is innate and evolutionary.
We do not kill or steal because we understand the value of life and property. We practice kindness because we have empathy. Secular ethics are superior because they are improved by reason and discussion, whereas religious morality is often stuck in the barbarism of the past.
